Since I was spouseless tonight, I decided to take a trip downtown to see what there was to see. While there, I drove down Broadway through the "Historic Core" of Los Angeles, and what I found was quite interesting: The architecture, the lights at dusk, the busy-but-normal pace of the area. I do think I will be planning an LA day to explore downtown on foot. When I do, Broadway and 6th at dusk will be one of my stops.

Today, God provided paying work for me to do. I have a new contract position starting on Monday.
Praise God. He is good.
Bonnie and I will be staying in California for a little while longer, it seems.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God and savior of the lost is mighty.
Bonnie and I are praying through my unemployment, and the Lord has given us a sense of calmness in this turbulent time. I have been reading through the book of Acts lately. It reads at a much faster pace than the gospels. So much was going on after Christ ascended that was chronicled in Acts. The people who followed Jesus' teaching went and lived like they believed and God did miraculous things through them.
The job market in California seems to be rather unresponsive. Not surprising considering that the unemployment rate out here is second only to Michigan. If I can't find work
Hot Chocolate
Hot chocolate with a touch of chipotle powder makes for a warm drink.
As I sit at my computer in the midst of some intense software development, I can't help but to ponder at life over my late-night beverage. To put it bluntly, I feel like a failure. I have a business under water, a growing mountain of personal debt with no income in sight (though not for lack of effort), and an ill wife.
But most of all, I feel broken, as if I were a porcelain vase smashed on unforgiving bedrock. Pieces of my façade are strewn all about and I cannot mend the fracture. This is what I have reluctantly prayed for, because it is at this point, I have nowh

Six years later, I work downtown and walk through the historic core daily. I still love the architecture.
